Students put their imagination on canvas during Children’s Painting Competition at Vishwarang 2022

Bhopal November 14, 2022:  One of the most anticipated art & cultural event of the year – Get Set Parent Children’s Literature Art & Music Festival under the aegis of Vishwarang 2022 organised Tagore Children’s Painting Competition at Rabindra Bhavan in Bhopal. The painting competition was organised to encourage the creativity of school students with the aim of bringing out the hidden talent in children. The competition saw participation from over 2000 children from government, private and public schools. The painting competition had three categories: the first for kids from classes 6 to 8, the second for students from classes 9-10 and the third for students in classes 11-12. Director of Vishwarang, Santosh Choubey, renowned painter Ashok Bhowmik, Co-Director of Vishwarang, Leeladhar Mandloi, Co-Director Dr Siddharth Chaturvedi, Co-Director Dr Aditi Chaturvedi Vats and RNTU Registrar Dr Vijay Singh were the dignitaries present on this occasion.

Dr. Pallavi Rao Chaturvedi, Director of Get Set Parent said the painting competition severed as a curtain raiser for the main Get Set Parent Children’s Literature, Art and Music Festival that are being organised over the weekend, which has over 50 sessions across author interactions, story telling session, art workshops, puppet workshops and so much more. We are overwhelmed with the response and looking forward to pulling off Bhopal’s biggest children’s event between 18th to 20th Nov’ 2022 at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre (Minto Hall) Bhopal

On this occasion, Santosh Choubey said that by participating in such competitions gives space for artistic and mental development in the children. Therefore, children should actively participate in these competitions that hone their interests as it also enables the well-rounded development of children. The artistic talent displayed during the painting competition encourages parents to enable their children to pursue their passion. The atmosphere of Rabindra Bhavan was artistic, holistic and enriching. The students put their imagination on canvas displaying their talent through the medium of colours. Children created interesting renditions such as Madhubani art, and paintings of Radha Krishna, and Kali Mata. Another child’s fascination for the Cheetah brought by the Government of India to the land of Madhya Pradesh was painted with vivid colours and imagination. A few other paintings displayed sunset in the forest with hues of gold, then some were Inspired by Buddha, and the message of Buddhism such as discipline, character and knowledge. A few paintings paid tribute to strong characters from history like Maharani Lakshmi Bai, Veer Shivaji. In a feminist take; Draupadi was brought to life on canvas and was represented as a symbol of the powerful Indian woman.

In the competition held, the paintings created by 500 students will be displayed during the course of Vishwarang. Lucky 100 children who will be selected will be a part of the painting workshop on 18th November. And the first three winners of all three categories will also receive awards during Vishwarang 2022.
