New Delhi, 20th December 2022: With an aim to boost the knowledge on mental well-being and enable the people to cope with stresses in life, a mental healthcare web portal is all set to be launched in New Delhi at India International Centre, New Delhi on December 27, 2022. The portal has been conceived by Balvinder Kumar, a retired IAS with multiple facets – author, spiritual seeker, meditation teacher, and a painter who has been sharing his thoughts on various aspects of life, science, and spirituality to an ever-growing audience and discerning readers.
The mega launch event of “The Mind Therapy” will witness the presence of the Prabhat Kumar, Ex-Cabinet Secretary and Former Governor of Jharkhand as the Chief Guest. Parmeshwaran Iyer, CEO of Niti Ayog and Dr Randeep Guleria, Former Director of AIIMS, New Delhi will be attending the occasion as Guests of Honour.
“The Mind Therapy” emphasises on integrated healing of mind encouraging people to orient their mind to fine-tune their lives. Elaborates Balvinder Kumar, “We are launching this digital platform to address the growing mental health problems. We are using holistic and integrative system of healing and treatment with a large number of experts of disciplines like psychiatry, functional medicine, psychotherapy, counselling, ayurveda, nutrition and diet, naturopathy, yoga, and meditation, on board. We will be organising regular worships, webinars, and spiritual talks to raise awareness on the growing mental health issue which have become the bane of modern life. My heart goes out when I see people afflicted with mental health disorders facing difficulties in leading a meaningful existence. While we take pride in launching our upcoming web portal, we expect more and more people to attend the launch event and encourage us in our efforts towards helping people understand and manage their mental and emotional health.”
A prolific writer, Balvinder Kumar has authored several books which include Man’s Spiritual Journey, Awakening the Thinking Mind, Redesign Your Life in Modern Age and Exploring Life, among others. His writings explore a whole gamut of subjects concerning human life and its spiritual nature focusing on how to manage our lives in the contemporary world.
His writing is greatly influenced not only by recent findings of neuroscientists and medical researchers but also by the teachings of the Buddhist tradition, Vedic philosophy, and the inspirations of contemporary spiritual teachers. He himself is a regular practitioner of yoga and mindfulness-based meditation.
Balvinder Kumar obtained his Master in Philosophy from the University of Delhi and Master in Development Administration from the University of Birmingham, England. He has about 36 years of experience in public policies, administration, and management and at the peak of his career; he served as Secretary, Mines, the Government of India. Later, he served as Vice-Chancellor of SGT University in Gurgaon, Haryana, and till recently, as member, Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA).
