RUM ON THE ROCKS or maybe not

RUM ON THE ROCKS or maybe not

It’s fun, it’s Cuban rum, it’s Havana Club 7

BY RUKMA SALUJA

There’s new rum in town. To be enjoyed on the rocks or as a colourful fruity cocktail, Havana Club 7 makes for that perfect fun aperitif or even your drink for the whole evening. It is for you if you love to experiment with spirits and have a keen interest in aged spirits, boutique and craft liquor. Havana Club 7 offers flavours created for those of you who love to experiment with their F&B. Each year, a portion of a new batch of rum is put back into the barrel, to slowly age and matures for several more years, to be ready for you when the mood strikes some time in the future. The cyclical process of ageing, maturing and refinement continues, so that Havana Club 7 contains the spirit of that original batch from decades ago. The result is greater than the sum of its parts, with each having a unique story to tell.

Kartik Mohindra, CMO, Pernod Ricard India, said, “The Indian market has traditionally been dominated by only a few domestic rum brands. With consumers willing to expand their horizons and move beyond traditional spirits, the premium rum category is witnessing a buoyant growth.”

Havana Club 7 is premium dark rum matured in ex Bourbon barrels, that bring out the rich natural flavours of Cuba is really ‘Cuba in a Bottle’. It is full of Cuban flavours which are a tasteful amalgamation of aromatic tobacco, sweet tropical fruits, spices, and vanilla notes. There’s no stopping you now from adding this to your bar.

While there are a slew of options, what worked best for me was Havana Club 7 mixed with orange and ginger ale.
