No cultural events could be held through 2020 due to Covid-19, nor during the first nine months of 2021 as the second wave of Covid-19 peaked. But there was hope and relief as more than a 100 crore doses of vaccines were administered by the government at the Centre and in the states. There was a gradual revival of cultural activities as events began to be held physically in New Delhi and other parts of the country in the later part of 2021.
