June 16, 2023 – New York, NY – Indian-American recording artist, Jini June, has released her latest sultry R&B single, “Pleasure Island”, sure to get soul/R&B/Funk lovers worldwide addicted to her sound. Seizing on the wildly successful hit “Leave the Door Open” by Silk Sonic, Jini June and her producer, Grammy-winning composer, Quincy “Q” Patrick, sought to write their own catchy bop with that same throwback R&B vibe. What came out of the recording studio was a feelgood, energetic ballad that sets the mood for romance. Jini June’s vocal chops are on full display throughout the record – a rare combination of strength and vocal control, building to a crescendo at the very end. Her piano skills are also on display at the opening of the song. “I wanted to write about the female taking the lead in moving a relationship to the next level”, Jini June states. “We ladies get tired sometimes of waiting around for the guy to make the move. Sure, we love to be wined and dined, but I think it’s just as important for the man to know his lady can take care of him too – without the lavish vacations or trips. There’s nothing wrong with driving over and picking him up once in a while. At the end of the day, he just wants to feel secure and in a place of peace with his girl, and this song is about letting him know that YOU are his ‘pleasure island’. My favorite lyric actually is “I got all you need, no passport required’.”
“Pleasure Island” also has crazy cross-over appeal to the pop music world according to Patrick. “We’re in a time where classic R&B and soul is coming back in full-force. Those who think R&B is dead couldn’t be more wrong. It just needs a bit of a makeover, but it’s still very much relevant. When a song is catchy, it doesn’t matter what genre it is, it’ll find a home in pop music lovers playlists.” “Pleasure Island” is available today everywhere music is streamed. Jini June will be releasing the official music video for “Pleasure Island” Friday, June 23.
