Union Government’s Mission ‘Vande Bharat’ launched on May 7 with the aim to repatriate Indians stranded in foreign countries and to transport the foreigners stranded in India back to their own countries ever since the COVID-19 induced lockdown came into effect, is all set to enter its seventh phase from October 29. Under the mission,  more than 27 lakh people have been brought home till now.
Gradually the mission progressed with bringing Indians back from countries such as UAE, Qatar, and Singapore to India. Notably, Vande Bharat Mission’s fifth phase witnessed more the phase and 766 flights operating from Colombo, Riyadh, Dares Salam, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi to India. The sixth phase of the mission will end at the current month-end and it will overlap with the 7th phase with over 1626 flights. Air India Express will be operating special flights between Trichy and Muscat.
